Fire Marshal Half day course


Aim

To give students an understanding of the role and responsibilities of a fire marshal in the workplace.

Objectives

On completion of the course students will:

  • Have a working knowledge of fire legislation

  • Undertake the role of a fire marshal

  • Assist in an emergency

  • Assist with fire prevention measures in the workplace

On completion of the course students will be awarded a Fire Marshal certificate.

  • Causes of fire and how fires spread

  • Triangle of fire

  • The Fire Precautions (Workplace) (Amended) Regulations

  • Fire certificated premises

  • Fire safety signs and signals

  • Safety Signs and Signals Regulations

  • Fire and bomb drills

  • Emergency evacuation

  • Firefighting equipment

  • Role of the fire marshal in the workplace

  • People with disabilities – legal responsibilities

  • Record keeping

  • Basic fire prevention

  • Calling the fire brigade
